About that drum, it was a lot of fun to make it; in a workshop led by an Ojibwa drum-maker. The day started with a smudge ceremony and refreshments were provided. In addition to making the drums, we got interesting instruction about the drums, drumming etc. The exciting news is that there is going to be another drum-making workshop, on May 7. The day-long workshop, plus materials (and you end up with the drum) was $135 for a drum the size of mine. More if you want a bigger drum. contact info- keith and linda Taylor 2549 Church St

THE WISE WOMAN`S STONE

A wise woman who was travelling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him, she did so without any delay. The traveler left rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime.
